Locally grown vegetables free of petroleum based fertilizers and pesticides. Our focus is on creating healthy soil where the most nutritious plants can thrive. We love what we do and hope that it shows!

Tyson Lloyd


Tyson graduated from Utah State University with his Masters of Business Administration. While working at Lexisnexis in Washington, DC he decided he needed something different. After much deliberation he started in internship growing vegetables at Bois d’Arc Farm in Marion, AL. It was the right fit. Now he’s pouring himself into establishing Better Food Farm. Other interests? There’s no time. But it used to include backpacking, fishing, and beekeeping.

Jacque Lloyd


Jacque is the farms #1 investor. She works as a physician assistant at the George E. Whalen Veterans Hospital and loves serving our vets. While most of the heavy lifting is done by Tyson, occasionally you’ll have a flower bouquet that was put together by Jacque. She also manages the farm website, emails, and social media.  

Clara Lloyd


Clara is still figuring out her role on the farm. So far she’s enjoyed tractor rides and getting her toes in the dirt!  

Austin O'Brien


Austin graduated from Florida State University with a Business Management degree in 2018. Since then he's created an athletic recovery supplement brand, travelled to 7 countries and just returned from backpacking Morocco. His passion for health and wellness led him to dive head first into the root of it all. Fresh food. 

Lara Gale


This is my fourth season working in small agriculture production for local markets, and I'm really lucky to be spending it on Better Foods Farm. I learned from spending time in foreign cultures how much easier health and sophisticated cuisine are when food starts with fresh ingredients, and I'm a nerd about natural systems and love working with them. I'm also completing a masters degree in regional economic development, and when I'm not outside, I'm in front of a computer analyzing data.
